Häcker Kitchens are characterised by the highest degree of sustainability. They are carbon-neutral, energy-efficient and certified for healthy living. The paints used are water-based. Some of our lacquer laminate fronts even have a high recycled content.
Häcker GmbH & Co. KG received the "Golden M" award from the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel e.V. (DGM) the award "Golden M" for the high quality as well as exemplary health and environmental protection. The DGM's testing criteria include current quality, environmental and emission standards, with a particular focus on the product’s durability, stability and manufacturing quality. The DGM also reviews pollutant emissions and safety aspects and only awards its “Golden M” quality mark to furniture that meets all requirements in full.
Häcker cooperates with the renowned manufacturer ADLER Lacke, which produces more than two-thirds of its products on a water basis. This has multiple advantages for nature as well as for the consumer. The surfaces are resistant, feel good and look perfect. They also contribute to a positive ecological balance, as they sustainably protect and refine the renewable, natural raw material wood. Water-based coating materials produce about 90 percent less solvent during processing. Waterborne coatings from ADLER are therefore environmentally friendly and extend the life of the wood.
This supports Häcker Kitchens' sustainability philosophy for a clean environment and a premium lacquer finish.
Häcker predominantly uses an environmentally friendly water-based paint system and paint laminate with a high recycled content (>50%). In order to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible here, the innovative recycling product is sourced from a manufacturer in the NRW region. This means short delivery routes, with low resource consumption and maximum quality stability.
Healthy living – low-formaldehyde wood materials
Our solution: PURemission
Health is our most valuable asset. Medical progress, a balanced diet, but also an appropriate living environment make a major contribution to a healthier lifestyle. An important building block in this is formaldehyde.
What is formaldehyde?
Formaldehyde is an unbound, volatile, organic compound that is used in the production of wood-based materials in common binders – e.g. in glues and resins based on urea, melamine or phenol. When present above a certain threshold in the air, it is harmful to human health.
Due to a careful selection of our composite wood products and of our suppliers, we have succeeded in optimally reducing the formaldehyde emissions of our products. We fulfil not only the requirements of the ChemVerbotsV (provision on prohibitions concerning the diffusion of hazardous substances), more precisely of the new E05 standard, which has come into force on the 1st of January 2020, but also the higher US standards of TSCA Title VI, which correspond to the Californian CARB2 requirements.
Our PURemission standard provides the best conditions for a healthy inside air and therefore sets high standards both for our customers and for a better environment.
Safety in the presence of moisture – PUR gluing of thick edges
With the innovative PUResist gluing technology, we achieve the highest quality properties for all edges. They are water repellent and are characterized by high resistance.
Tested in detail
In order to keep the quality promise, the materials are regularly tested in the Häcker test laboratory for their resistance to water vapour, damp and alternating climates. The test scenario simulates extreme conditions that far exceed the actual loads to be expected. Häcker is technically capable of providing narrow parts with a water-resistant thick edging that meets the highest quality and visual requirements. Whether hot steam or splashing water – a Häcker kitchen is protected all around in a sustainable way.
The high-quality "PUResist" gluing is consistently used for all edges.
A formaldehyde- and solvent-free polyurethane reaction adhesive is used for this purpose.
TIPS FOR YOU:
Refrain from pre-rinsing dishes under running water. Blaupunkt dishwashers loosen even heavy soiling.
Select the right cleaning program: Short programs are sufficient for lightly soiled dishes. Refrain from using full programs if possible. Economy and eco programs are absolutely sufficient for normally soiled dishes. This way you save up to 30 percent energy.
Wash smart: Do not turn on the dishwasher until it is fully loaded.
Vario SPEED Plus
Advantage: Up to 50 percent shorter rinsing time while delivering perfectly clean and dry dishes.
Ideal placement: don't place refrigerators right next to the stove or on the sunny side of your kitchen – n our latitudes, the warm environment will cost you up to 30 percent more energy.
The Blaupunkt brand stands for highly economical consumption and maximum energy efficiency. It also stands for shorter rinsing times and optimum cleaning as well as for long-lasting, efficient and extremelyy quiet motors.
Blaupunkt clean & efficient
Appliances in the new energy class D (formerly A+++) save up to 75 percent water and 50 percent electricity costs - in direct comparison to washing up by hand.
ENERGY EFFICIENT COOLING
TIPS FOR YOU:
The temperature in the refrigerator is optimal at 7 °C and at -18 °C in the freezer.
Settings higher than that consume considerably more power.
Do not put hot food into the refrigerator, as you will waste 20 percent more electricity to cool them down!
A very good idea, on the other hand, is to defrost food in the refrigerator. On the one hand, it is gentler than in the microwave or on the hob, and on the other, defrosted food can be heated more quickly. Another advantage: the frozen food cools your refrigerator inside.
Defrost regularly: iced walls in the freezer section require twice the energy.
